Sediment separator Functional principle In the FINSTERWALDER sediment separator, the fermentation sludge-sediment mixture discharged by the soil scraper (more information can be found here) is temporarily stored. Heavy substances have time to sediment there. The sediment-free supernatant is decanted from the separator back into the fermenter. The separator can hold up to 4 m³ of sediment before it is emptied with a screw discharge. Patented FINSTERWALDER floor cleaning system - Reliable clearing of containers during operation After processing, many organic wastes still contain substances that settle in the digester (e.g. stones, sand, bone fragments, pieces of glass, eggshells, etc.). In order for digesters to fulfill their function in the long term, these sediments must be removed regularly. The soil cleaning system is used to continuously remove sediment from the fermenter. The system consists of the patented mechanical soil scraper, the sediment discharge pump and the sediment separator . This system avoids the otherwise regularly required and costly cleaning out of the fermenter (= interruption of operation). Functional principle of the floor scraper Thanks to the patented geometry of the scraper arms, sediments are transported from the digester floor to a discharge opening that is embedded in the digester floor. From there, the sediment discharge pump extracts the sediment and conveys it to the sediment separator. The little powerhouse - the KP10 piston pump The KP10 piston pump is designed for the toughest and most wear-intensive applications. It is used when hot slurries or highly abrasive materials such as sand, stones, glass and metal splinters need to be pumped. The pumping process takes place by alternately opening the valves.
