Small biogas plant for up to 1000 l/day of moist food waste.

Modern kitchens in hospitals and large hotels are often equipped with collection systems for kitchen waste. Meiko Maschinenbau (www.meiko.com) is a leading company in this field and a development partner of the FITEC Biogas Box. The FITEC Biogas Box uses this food waste to generate heat or electricity.

The FITEC Biogas Box is a very compact, partially transportable biogas plant that complies with German standards and regulations. It includes a 30 m³ fermenter and a 14 m³ digestate buffer tank as well as all the technology required for operation.

Thanks to its modular structure, it can be easily adapted to
country-specific regulations. The following modules are country-specific, investment cost-relevant, selectable options:

– Pasteurization system (heating to 70 °C and maintaining this temperature for one hour before discharge into the fermenter)
– Energy center: redundant second burner and boiler or power generation or gas export
– Catch basin for collecting liquid from the fermenter in the event of an accident

FITEC Biogas Boxes can be operated in parallel with combined gas systems, so that scaling in throughput steps of 1000 l/d is possible.
