Little Island, Cork (IE) – Sediment removal and skimmer system
Process area:
Digestion, Pumps
Charging material:
• 90.000 t/y
• domestic andcommercial food waste
The facility is designed to process organic household and commercial waste and will convert approximately 90,000 tons of waste into around 81 GWh of biomethane annually. In addition to energy production, the facility will produce high-quality biofertilizers and food-grade CO₂ for industrial applications.
Construction began in early 2025, and the facility is scheduled to open at the end of 2027.
