Charging material:

Ecoparc 3 in Barcelona processes the residual fraction, i.e. waste that has not been collected separately and may still contain around 30% to 40% organic matter.
Biological treatment:
The organic matter obtained in the sorting process is first subjected to pre-treatment. The resulting suspension then passes through a sand trap and hydrocyclones to remove any remaining impurities – both heavy and floating.
In the next step, the material is fed into two fermenters in which the organic matter is fermented.
This process produces a methane-rich biogas and a fermentation residue.
